About This Policy

Garden Recall transforms voice recordings and written notes into a searchable history of your garden. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we retain it, and the choices available to you.

By using Garden Recall, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. This policy applies to the Garden Recall mobile application, website, and related services that link to it (collectively, the “Service”).

1. Information We Collect

Account information

When you create or manage an account, we may collect your name, email address, authentication identifiers, sign-in provider, account settings, and subscription status. If you sign in through Apple, Google, or another provider, that provider may send us limited account information according to your settings with that provider.

Voice recordings and transcripts

When you choose to record a garden note, Garden Recall collects the audio recording and creates a written transcript. Microphone access is used only when you choose to record or otherwise activate a voice feature. Your device settings control whether Garden Recall may access the microphone.

Your garden memories

Garden Recall may organize the information you provide into structured garden records, including:

• plants, crops, and varieties;
• planting, transplanting, flowering, and harvest events;
• quantities, measurements, dates, seasons, and garden areas;
• observations about growth, weather, pests, disease, and treatments;
• tasks, reminders, plans, and seasonal ideas; and
• AI-generated summaries, insights, timelines, and answers based on your saved history.

Together, these records form your personal garden history—the searchable memory Garden Recall builds for you over time.

Location and weather context

If you allow location access or provide a location manually, Garden Recall may use approximate location information to provide relevant weather or seasonal context. We do not use location information for advertising. You may manage location permissions through your device settings.

Support communications

If you contact us, we may collect your email address, the content of your message, attachments you provide, and information needed to investigate or respond to your request.

Device, diagnostics, and usage information

We and our service providers may collect limited technical information such as device type, operating system, app version, language, crash reports, diagnostics, feature usage, and approximate timestamps. We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.

Subscription and transaction information

Purchases are processed by Apple, Google, or another authorized payment platform. Garden Recall generally does not receive your complete payment-card details. We may receive purchase status, product, renewal, expiration, cancellation, and transaction identifiers needed to provide subscription access and customer support.

2. How We Use Information

We use personal information for the following purposes:

Provide the Service. Store recordings, generate transcripts, organize garden memories, synchronize records, and make account features available.

Personalize your experience. Produce Garden Briefs, reminders, timelines, search results, and Ask My Garden responses based on your saved history.

Operate AI features. Process recordings, transcripts, and relevant account context to extract and retrieve garden information.

Manage accounts and subscriptions. Authenticate users, maintain entitlements, process subscription status, and support account recovery.

Support users. Respond to questions, investigate problems, and communicate about service-related matters.

Improve reliability and quality. Analyze errors, test functionality, monitor performance, and improve extraction accuracy and user experience.

Protect Garden Recall. Detect abuse, prevent fraud, enforce our Terms, and maintain the security and integrity of the Service.

Meet legal obligations. Comply with lawful requests, tax and accounting requirements, and other applicable obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your garden memories for third-party behavioral advertising.

3. How AI Builds Your Garden Memory

Garden Recall uses artificial intelligence to transform information you provide into useful, searchable garden records. For example, a recording may be processed to identify plants, varieties, harvests, tasks, observations, dates, quantities, and other details you mentioned.

To provide these features, Garden Recall may send a recording, transcript, and limited relevant context to trusted AI or transcription service providers acting on our behalf. Those providers are permitted to process information only as needed to provide contracted services, subject to their agreements with Garden Recall.

AI-generated information may contain errors, omit details, or interpret a recording differently than you intended. Garden Recall is a journaling and memory tool; please review important information before relying on it for gardening, health, safety, or other decisions.

Garden Recall will not use your identifiable recordings or garden memories to train a general-purpose AI model unless we first provide clear notice and obtain any consent required by law.

4. When Information Is Shared

We share personal information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Categories of recipients may include:

• Cloud and authentication providers that host information, store files, and help users sign in.
• AI and transcription providers that process recordings and transcripts to provide Garden Recall features.
• Subscription platforms that validate purchases and manage subscription entitlements.
• Analytics, diagnostics, and support providers that help us understand performance, investigate errors, and assist users.
• Professional advisers and authorities when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud, or establish or defend legal claims.
• A successor organization in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections and notice where required.

Our current providers may include OpenAI for AI processing, Google Firebase for authentication and cloud services, RevenueCat for subscription management, and Apple or Google for app distribution and purchases. The exact providers and functions may change as the Service evolves. We will update this policy when changes materially affect how personal information is handled.

5. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on your location and the features available in your version of Garden Recall, you may be able to:

• review and correct account or garden information;
• edit or delete individual recordings and garden memories;
• manage microphone, location, notification, and other device permissions;
• manage or cancel a subscription through the platform where you purchased it;
• request access to or a portable copy of personal information associated with your account;
• request correction or deletion of personal information;
• object to or request restriction of certain processing where applicable; and
• delete your Garden Recall account.

You may exercise available controls within the app or contact support@gardenrecall.com . We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests. Applicable law may permit or require us to decline or limit a request in specific circumstances.

Garden Recall does not discriminate against users for exercising applicable privacy rights.

6. Retention and Account Deletion

How long we keep information

We generally retain account information and garden memories while your account remains active so the Service can preserve and recall your garden history. You may delete individual items or request account deletion at any time.

We may retain limited information after deletion when reasonably necessary for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, accounting, or enforcement of agreements. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before being overwritten through normal system processes. Information retained for these purposes will not be used to provide an active garden profile.

Deleting your account

You may initiate account deletion through the Personal Data or Account area of the app. Garden Recall will delete the account and associated personal information that we are not legally required to retain. Deactivation or removal of the app from your device does not, by itself, delete your account.

Deleting your Garden Recall account does not automatically cancel an active subscription billed through Apple or Google. Before or during deletion, you should review and cancel the subscription through the applicable app-store subscription settings to prevent future renewal charges.

Users who cannot access the app may request deletion by visiting Garden Recall's account-deletion webpage or contacting support@gardenrecall.com .

7. Security, Children, and International Processing

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. These measures may include access controls, secure service configurations, monitoring, and protections provided by our cloud and platform partners. No system can guarantee absolute security, and you are responsible for protecting your account credentials and device access.

Children's privacy

Garden Recall is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. Parents or guardians may contact support@gardenrecall.com with concerns.

International processing

Garden Recall and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have privacy laws different from those where you live. Where required, we use appropriate measures intended to protect personal information transferred across borders.

8. Updates and Contact Information

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Garden Recall grows or our practices change. We will post the updated policy, revise the effective date, and provide additional notice when required. Your continued use of the Service after an updated policy takes effect is subject to the updated policy.
